Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist 

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will lead the optimization of project management processes, data tracking systems, and reporting mechanisms. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and impactful delivery of business development interventions for small businesses. The M&E Specialist will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Coordinators to achieve these goals. 

Key Performance Areas and Tasks 

1. Process Improvement and Optimisation 

  • Conduct Analysis: 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance project management processes. 
  • Lead Implementation: 
  • Implement these improvements with the project team to ensure efficient workflows. 
  • Develop and Document Processes: 
  • Standardize processes for ongoing reference and compliance. 

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Approved process documents. 
  • Team orientation of approved processes. 
  • Compliance through implemented measures/controls. 

2. Reporting, Data Collection, and Analysis 

  • Design and Generate Reports: 
  • Create comprehensive reports on project performance, outcomes, and impact for internal and external audiences. 
  • Collaborate for Data Collection: 
  • Work with Project Managers and Coordinators to collect, compile, and present accurate data. 
  • Oversee Data Lifecycle: 
  • Ensure data integrity, verification, and analysis throughout project implementation. 
  • Provide Insights: 
  • Use various tools and methodologies to interpret data and provide actionable insights. 
  • Implement Surveys: 
  • Regularly gather feedback and measure project effectiveness through client and SME surveys. 

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Regular client and SME surveys. 
  • Correct filing/labelling of valid data. 
  • Dashboards and reports produced on recommended platforms. 

3. Quality Assurance and Monitoring Framework 

  • Establish QA Process: 
  • Ensure adherence to M&E standards and best practices. 
  • Conduct Reviews: 
  • Identify and address deviations from the QA process. 
  • Develop M&E Framework: 
  • Create relevant KPIs to measure project success and impact. 

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Approved Quality Assurance process. 
  • Improved compliance to QA process through implemented controls. 

4. Project Coordination 

  • Provide Support: 
  • Offer strategic project coordination support to the project team. 
  • Administrative Assistance: 
  • Ensure smooth running of project activities. 

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Effective project support through planning and coordination. 

Key Relationship Interfaces 

Internal Relationships: 

  • Zevoli internal staff. 

External Relationships: 

  • SMEs. 
  • Clients. 

Specific Requirements 

  • May be required to work overtime and travel as necessary. 

Job Specification 

Qualifications: 

  • Tertiary qualification. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E, data collection, interpretation, and reporting in social or related fields. 

Competency Requirements 

Knowledge: 

  • In-depth understanding of M&E methodologies and best practices. 
  • Expertise in various data collection methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.). 
  • Strong foundation in project management principles. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data analysis software. 

Skills: 

  • Excellent planning and organizing skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling reports.
